Another of Berry’s points in the CBC podcast interview is that there can be problems associated with the high specialisation in science. He is looking at how science is applied without that widely encompassing understanding that can fit things together and see the consequences. He relates this to the ‘healthfulness’ or ‘wholeness’ of the results.
